Sending us electronic documents

The best way to send us documents is in My SST Portal opens a new window. This platform lets you submit large files and is the most secure way to send us your documents. Whether using My SST Portal or another method, send us your electronic documents in the formats listed below, without passwords, so we can open them.

If you try to submit documents in formats not listed here, My SST Portal won’t allow you to upload them. If you email us documents we can’t open, we’ll return them to you, and you’ll need to provide them in a format we can open.

Text files

We can accept these text file formats:

  • .pdf
  • .docx
  • .doc
  • .rtf
  • .txt

Pictures, audio files and video files

We can accept pictures and audio/video files up to 1 gigabyte (GB) in the following formats:

  • .JPEG
  • .PNG
  • .3GP
  • .MOV
  • .MP3
  • .MPEG3
  • .MP4
  • .WMA
  • .WMV
  • .WAV

Scanned documents

Send us scanned documents instead of photos of your documents. Poor picture quality and file size will slow down your appeal.

You can use a mobile device (like your phone) to scan paper documents with a scanning app, if you don’t have access to a traditional scanner or fax machine. We don’t provide technical support for these apps.

Documents on CD or USB

The best way to send us documents, including large files, is by creating an account in My SST Portal opens a new window.

If you send us documents on a CD or a USB, save them together in one folder.

If you want your documents to appear in a specific order, number them. For example:

1-Medical Document.doc
2-Doctor’s Note.pdf
