Practice directions
Practice directions explain aspects of our appeal process that aren’t covered in our Rules of Procedure or Regulations. They provide guidance to parties and representatives on the actions to take and the order to follow. They may include links to necessary forms.
In exceptional cases, a member may follow a different process than what is set out in a practice direction. If a member does this, they will explain why.
- Using testimony from General Division hearings in Income Security appeals at the Appeal Division
- Starting or continuing an appeal on behalf of a deceased person
- Setting aside a withdrawal
- Using artificial intelligence in appeals at the Social Security Tribunal
- Appealing interlocutory decisions to the Appeal Division
